The 2016 Calgary Home + Garden Show is right around the corner, starting this Thursday, February 25 through Sunday, February 28. Whether you’re a new home owner, a condo-dweller or simply looking to refresh your home for Spring, there’s something for everyone with over 650 exhibitors and local vendors, all under one roof.
With so much to see and do, make sure you have a game plan before you hit the BMO Centre & Stampede Park. It wasn’t easy, but we’ve narrowed it down to our top five things to see and do, from the show’s must-see presenters to interactive seminars & workshops. There’s real advice at every turn! A few Calgary Home + Garden Show highlights to look forward to:
5. Amborella Flower Market
Learn insider tips and tricks straight from Calgary’s foremost floral designers at Amborella Floral Studio’s Flower Market. Pop by for an impromptu floral arranging workshop with Amborella’s experts, who can show you how to mix greenery and fresh cut blooms to compose the perfect bouquet or centerpiece. Presented by Amborella Floral Studio

4. Living Green Workshops
You don’t need to have a green thumb to create your very own hanging air plant terrarium or shadow box planter, with guidance from the experts at the Blue Grass Garden Centre Living Green Workshops. Take home a little touch of green to get you through the last stretch of Calgary’s winter. Blue Grass has all the moss, ferns, succulents and sand for you to build your own unique indoor garden to take home.

3. The Home + Garden Stage
When else will you get no-nonsense advice directly from Canada’s favourite home, horticulture and landscaping specialists? Check out this year’s talent from Calgary and beyond, including HGTV’s Carson Arthur and André Chevigny, lifestyle expert Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault and designer Amanda Forrest.

2. Food Truck Eatery
Foodies take note! YYC’s favourite rolling restaurants are making a pit stop. Score top-notch eats from the king’s of Calgary’s latest food craze, including Fiasco Gelato. Follow the scent of sweet and savoury goodness just outside the Corral to get your fix, then take a seat in the Food Truck Lounge to dig in and enjoy.

1. Ultimate Upcycle Challenge: Planted
Take home a truly one-of-a-kind garden planter and support Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta. Each unique planter has been repurposed and reimagined by some of Calgary’s top media, lifestyle and design personalities including CTV meteorologist Kelsey McEwen, DIY specialist Lacey Haskell of Feathering My Nest and Juice Because owner Elisa Boyd using rescued items from ReStore Calgary and an assortment of supplies provided by Rust-Oleum Consumer Brands Canada. Stop by to view and place a bid on your favourite, with 100% of proceeds benefitting Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta. Presented by Rust-Oleum, plants provided by Golden Acre Garden Centre, in support of Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta
